 Sammi was my first retriever and first show dog. Together we have participated in conformation, obedience, tracking, flyball, agility, sledding and field training. She completed her CD at only 13 months old, and has one leg towards a CDX. Sammi was in retirement for several years, but decided at the age of 9 years to get back to work. She is preparing for her JH/WC/WCI field titles, has been considering re-starting flyball, and is also prepping for a tracking title! But not only that, she has taken up agility again, and in a big way!
Sammi does have some health issues: she has been battling extremely severe allergies (cats, dust mites, pollen, trees, grasses & assorted foods) since she was a year old, and she is also Hypothyroid. A BARF diet and homeopathy have helped, but there is no perfect cure that we can find.

Sammi entered her first USDAA agility trial in June 2001 where she ran clean but just missed a Q in Performance I Titling by 1.87 seconds over time (my fault, oops!) but still managed a 2nd place. Then we ran Gamblers where we were doing great, she did the hard part of the gamble, all she had to do was hit the table only 3 feet in front of her....and then one of my friends in the audience got over-excited and yelled out "way to go!"......and Sammi ran straight out of the ring to her and was eliminated, so we missed out on what would have been a Q and 2nd place : ( We ran Jumpers last, we finished the course but it wasn't very pretty! She is not a "speed demon" on course, but is always reliable and accurate.
